OMEGA Returning

The current larger plot in play involves a group known as OMEGA. (Don't confuse this with the Omega particle.) OMEGA harried the Federation in 2399 and again in 2401 and in 2404, first as part of an“Insurrection” plot and later because they make a good enemy.  In their last encounter with a Starfleet and the Federation, they faced the USS Whitestar/IXL Whitestar and a semi-sentient ship called “Guardian Angel” and the OMEGA operative was RAdm Za’Kal and a host of other NPC’s and PC’s and several other sims played in the plot. Za’Kal was insane though and whether he liked to think it or not, he was expendable which is why when the ‘Star and the Legacy attacked OMEGA let his base of operations be destroyed and created the belief that with the destruction of that base, OMEGA had been destroyed as well.

It goes like this (from 2004)

As far as the 'Star's records go, he's not returned to that area of space. ...there were no planetary systems in that area. The last battle
involved the destruction of the last of the Magellan class ships:  the USS Armageddon...the other two being the Whitestar and the Magellan, the
latter two having at this point in history also being destroyed. Present at that battle were ships of the Draconian fleet <very very old
Federation fleet>; Lyrans, Orions, renegade ships and Omega ships controlled by Za'Kal the personage behind insurrection.

The end result was that the Draconians were destroyed, the Lyrans were greatly reduced, Orions were basically unaffected, the Klingon vessels
were dealt with by the Empire, the renegade SF ships - those people that were part of the Insurrection dispersed and occasionally appear..of
course they're not SF any longer and under mutiny laws can be shot/arrested etc on sight. The Omega ships disappeared into subspace.
The Whitestar has dealt with them in many plotlines including it's current plot since that time.

Things within the Federation were greatly affected and in a lot of cases had to be rebuilt. All of the insurrectionists were not located or
found and some died in battle or by their own hand.

As far as plots go, it was something that affected the Federation more than anyone else. RSR and KE weren't really involved in it at that time IC or OOC as they were dealing with their own things. Then IC CinC at that time is and was officially listed as MIA still, <despite all the
OOC Stuff with the removal that occurred at that time is actually not relevant to the IC events> Commodore Evelyn Knight but that will be
dealt with in a plot series and has been approved by the current SF CO.

Other key players were Soran, Eve, Cerywyn, Hawke, Suzanna, Spartan and Jaynie...along with others that really helped feed the plot and work out the NPC's involved.

Overall when you reach that area of space...you won't find anything but debris from the battle as well as possible Subspace distortions that are
indistinct at this point due to the time that has lapsed.

Until now -.that’s where our present story and our journey picks up.  OMEGA were never really destroyed but they’d played a fatal hand and lost some ground. They’d also realized they weren’t indestructible and that they hadn’t known as much about their ‘enemy’ as they’d thought. So, they’ve had over at least 15 years to regroup, to watch, to learn and to grow while the Federation is considerably weaker having just gone through the IC strife of the last major org plot (that I don’t know a lot about but I know resulted in an IC loss of resources, people etc.)  Additionally, OMEGA know about certain people in SF that they have previously faced and often have someone on the inside. Additionally, because of the roles Soran, Cerywyn and the others played, especially Korin and the Guardian Angel – they are better prepared for what those people will bring to bare in a confrontation.

One such improvement is the ability to better mask the tetryon signature that could identify them as having ‘subspace’ properties and according to the Jarrad’s records their hulls seem to deflect our scans better... OMEGA is good at attracting the right people with the right ‘wrong’ motivations. The last time they had an insane madman that even they rejected. This time, they have a woman they have groomed since birth. Their reach last time was more or less confined to the Alpha/Beta Quadrant and even then was limited in scope. All records of the incident were classified  - after all a mutiny in the ranks of Starfleet is not a good thing and it did lead to the formation of the IXL which for years acted under orders from the Klingon Empire but has sense been released from that service and the Imperial Xeno Legion became the Independent Xeno Legion....(Think French Foreign Legion in space) which now heads up the  Border Defense Network. Because their technology comes from multiple ‘empires’ – they have a slight advantage...but aren’t infallible any more than anyone else. Bigger guns and toys usually have an equally big flaw.

The plan at the moment is  this:

The USS Timmis needs some room to really dig their teeth into something – so I will be sending the Timmis into the Gamma Quadrant to do reconnaissance

I will be sending the SSS Vale (this will be an NPC Ship led by Lt.Cmdr Novak)  into the Alpha Quadrant and the

NPC SSS Golden Hawke will go to the  Delta Quadrant.

Additionally, we have some new PC players, like Major Akume Valtriss and B.Gen Kyrie Joseph  (most likely to the Gamma Quadrant), who has previous IC SSS/S31 experience and Col. Sito Jaxa will be arriving shortly.  I havent’ quite figured out exactly where ya’ll go but you’ll be able to do you intel thing too.

We may also deploy the MEU under the leadership of Col. Iru Aixa to one of the non-aligned worlds to give aid and support.

The IXL /BDN is getting reinforcements from the Freya and company (Elizabeth McCormak, Andreana Cerridwen and OMG, my brain has had a senior moment because I can’t remember the name and if I stop right now I’ll forget where this train of thought is going. The IXL and BDN will continue to monitor and in their way also collect information. Station fighters will also be involved in this. One line of thought is that someone needs to discover those piranha that Livia Merteuil had deployed when she pulled back to her undisclosed location...and the whole idea associated with the decoy Gorn transponder. Our first thought might be that the Gorn are involved....

Meanwhile, the crew onboard Versailles could also find themselves being sent on diplomatic mission to some of the non-aligned worlds who have had trade ships destroyed and a people of those crewed ships lost.  That mission can easily be led by Captain Konuha and the USS Endeavour – and whichever of you wants to go. STOpS and SEC might need to stay and keep make sure the station stays in one piece. I don’t want to be left with my pants down so to speak.

We also have the whole intrigue element going on with the Governor of Y’Dalla and we have the whole sciencey aspect of the seismic disturbances on the planet.

And we have the suspicious character of Liselle and her weasely faced cohort.

I’ve also asked Amar to bring back his Cardassian Ambassador – which also lends itself to the Alpha Quadrant element. The last time the OMEGA were faced Cardassia wasn’t really part of it; nor were the other major powers. This may work in our favor – because facing the OMEGA, we’ll need all the help we can get.

This isn’t designed to be a ‘short and to the point’ plot – it’s like an onion – and you peel those carefully.

Additionally – at the moment, nothing is set in stone and I am fully open to suggestions

There is room for people to play one role or multiple roles – as you feel led. My job as Fleet Admiral and SB CO is to keep my SB in one piece and manage the troops J I get to manage all the info and funnel it to wherever we need it to go IC’ly speaking. Eventually all of our intel should lead us to some type of confrontation and I don’t know what that will really look like J I tried to make sure that the ‘generals’ in use by Livia were good counterpoints and counterweights to our own but I have also kept this to ‘created’ worlds and ‘non organized ‘governments/empires’.

Ooh...and I almost forgot the Orions – we definitely will need their help. I hope Ingoth will be open to the idea.
