This race is nearly extict. There are only 8 known lifeforms left, caretakers in part of what had originally been thought of as an abandoned stationed in the Delta Quadrant. They were enslaved for a time by the Klael/Kanterri which decimated their numbers. Their planet of origin is not known. It is thought perhaps that they were rescued by the Tiroli and left as guardians of the station when the Tiroli left it behind.

Physically, they stand just around 4 feet tall. Their skin is very pale, almost translucent and they have overly large black eyes for their small frames. They speak almost entirely via telepathy, even with non telepaths. It appears to be their only mode of communication. They have on occasion demonstrated a very high degree of psionic ability and unusual gifts but are also very secretive and suspicious. They in general flee on site of seeing another human.

Upon being discovered by the crew of the Endeavour and FCapt Cerywyn, they called her Emissary, because of her height, (all 5'ft of it). It has since become a source of humor among the crew.
