Welcome
First and foremost, this is a Star Trek fan fiction play-by-nova simulated role-playing environment. This is a writing environment created by people who love Star Trek. When you sim, you and your fellow roleplayers invent fictional characters, then collaborate to write those characters' experiences together. Basically, when you sim, you're playing a game of "let's pretend" using NOVA. The use of NOVA as an interface is an evolution of what was at one time a play-by-email environment. This particular simulated environment is suitable for 17 year old and up. There are occasions where mature content is reflected in an occasional log. The command team trusts that if you join the sim, you are 17 years are older.
This particular "Sim" is part of the 5th Fleet. If you haven't already, explore 5th fleet operations and learn more about the organization and the other sims that make this unique universe.
We want you to join our group. To do so, you'd need to visit our Sim's NOVA site for Space Station Cyrga and the Xeno Legion. As of August 10, 2021 a new Nova site for the sim is under construction and should be live soon. Create your character with a background and a history. Sometimes, just keeping it simple in the beginning is all you need. Your persona's history will develop over time. This allows other people on the sim and within the group to understand who your character is and this enhances not just your own sim experiences, but also the larger body of the sim. The more that you can give your character a history the more your fellow crewmembers will understand your persona.
We are all about Star-Trek here, and typically, our story lines explore the scientific, diplomatic, combat, and exploration of the Delta Quadrant (Post-Voyager). Our plots vary from detailed long term arcs to more introspective personal persona development. Subplts are encouraged, but always make sure that you check with the sim command team (the CO and XO) first just to be sure that he or she doesn't have something planned that may intefere. The more you write, the better you become over time and the more confidence you'll gain. No one is perfect and there are hiccups from tiem to time, but it's a forgiving space and you'll learn over time.
A Few Reminders
1. Have fun. Be creative. This isn't a 'canon' sim at all. The core is Star Trek but perhaps better as Star Trek evolved based on everyone's creativity. CREATIVITY.
2. Details matter. Pay ATTENTION to what those around you are doing.
3. Be ready to ADAPT. If you are paying attention to the details, this one is easy.
4. Word matter. How we use words matters more. Be CONSCIENTIOUS of how you say what you sa because everyone here is different and comes to this space via different countries, attitudes, values and beliefs.
5. The Golden Rule is always the BEST and ONLY rule: Treat others as you would like for others to treat you. Be respectful, kind, and courteous and you'll be just fine.
