The Origins

Cyrga is the fruit of several plot lines and several spatial moves with the final result being its location, its home in the Delta Quadrant. I'll be filling this  part as I recover data from previously logged scenes that flesh out where it all began. There are 2 key species that are essential to the station's past and present: The Tirolians - the original creators; the Pruiian's - the guardians of the station. It's important to distinguish that the Chlorans, a native DQ species are associated with the creation of the stable wormhole, but not with Cyrga. Cyrga protects, for obvious reasons, the Chloran wormhole and the larger DQ.

Of note are the Pruiians, 8 demure guardians that will protect the station regardless of the cost. The Pruiians have to be the key to the station for several reasons: one important one being that they are purely telepathic which is why they are Cyrga's guardians. Who better to do that than a purely telepathic race. They would also know about the weapons systems on the station..like the Omega weapon. That could explain why they are so protective of the station. They don't want us to stumble onto something by mistake that we can't control and with which we could destroy ourselves and them...all by accident. The Pruiians would also be the Guardians of what was left behind by theTirolians .

Plant like appertures that power the station can be found in quite a few places interior to the station, and if you hurt enough of these, the station can die..or as I was told..it will BLOW UP.  Similarly, they are also much like plants and have to be cared for. Again, a joint effort by the Pruiian's and crewman of the station. What we don't want is for them to develop some spacey, plant forming mold or fungus because the effect on the station is not fully known. To date, that hasn't happened, but you never know.

Backstory of Chloros

The USS Helios vanished 33 years ago near the Chloros homeworld, a planet with the technology to generate an artifical wormhole. The Helios had been on a diplomatic mission for SF in hopes of having Chloros become a memeber of the Federation as well as to learn all they could about the generator.  The ship made contact with Chloros and was never heard from again.

Religion: The religious leader is also the head of state of the Chloran society. Rigat, their  Shangri-La, an obtainable place for both spirit and body.  The Chlorans believe all goodness resides at Rigat.  To obtain their place in this ultimate residence they must obtain four levels.  Each of higher level and spiritual awareness.-

Halai Pendat, the Religious, Spiritual and Secular leader is believed to be incarnated from a previous Halai.  The Pendati is a religious order that serve him in almost monklike asceticism.  Each Pendat rules a different Province or section of government and is responsible for the well being of the xenophobic Chlorans.  There are no traces of any other instances of reincarnation beliefs other than that which is connected to the Halai Pendat.-

The religious fervor was peaking as the Helios made it's way to Chloros. It is believed that the unfortunate crew of the Helios somehow breached protocol, somehow  offended, interfered or did some injustice in regard to the Chlorans present state of mind, at the time.  The records are still unclear.

Computer Files: 240001.27-AT Post Mission Brief, Discovery of the Helios and Chloros

From the mission report of Captain Nadia Romyev, XO of the USS Endeavour

The Away Team beamed down to the coordinates provided by a Ferengii prisoner caught with the warp core of the USS Helios, a ship that had been destroyed enroute to the Chloran homeworld. When we beamed down, we were surprised to find a pocket of breathable air amidst the CO2 choked atmosphere. Once in the pocket, we located our missing crewmember and the lost Chlorans, who weren't...exactly lost. Instead, the AT encountered an evolved form of the Cholorans, the result of a mutation at the genomic level - more plant than human or the perfect  blend of both. The new lifeform retained some physical features of humanoid life forms but also possessed the ability to camoflage themselves like the forest-like plant life of the planets surface. As such they did not register as life forms. They had sought seclusion and had retreated through the stable wormhole they'd created to land on this seemingly desolate planent. Their telepathic abilities allowed them to communicate at will with whomever they chose. When they'd settled the planet, they became so caught up in their search for enlightenment that the knowledge of how to close the wormhole had been lost and they though, erroneously, that since noone knew of its existence it would not be located. They had not counted on the Helios.

They chose not to reveal more of their civilzation than what we absolutely necessary. They take active means to keep their society hidden. What we encountered was the equivalent of a security force that prevented us from going any further without doing us any harm. It was explanatory in nature. They were assuredly feeling us out because they'd picked up readings that alarmed them - the Borg drone that had been disconnected from the hive and abandoned - only to be saved by the Edeavour. They knew about us than we did them. They were, however, and perhaps rightfully so, terrified of the Borg. Not even their species had been immune to their assimilation.

We explained that it was not part of the collective and that it couldn't contact them while onboard the Endeavour. The neural networks had been sealed and that more importantly it had asked for their help. A life was a life and aid couldn't be denied no matter how adamant  the CO had been that it was a trap. They were skeptical and they may have been right. They had one request which Starfleet and the Fedearation have honored - the location of their planet could not be revealed to anyone. They sought isolation on purpose and wished to remain apart or to interact only with a chosen few. In return, the Federation, in particular Starfleet, could utse the wormhole.

We then asked about the  USS Helios and its crew. The sorrow that emanated from the lifeforms before us was palpable. We knew before they had spoken - or at least we though we knew what was coming. The lifeform explained that they had not realised until it was too late that their systems were incompatible during the power transfer that opened the wormhole. They attempted to help us
initiate the wormhole activation...but the warp core of the Helios went critical and the crew had to eject it. Their ship was left vulnerable. To keep them safe, we brought them with us. We could not leave them to be destroyed. Over time, a different form of assimilation took place. For all intents and purposes, the crew of the USS Helios was dead. Only the AT and eventually the Captain of the Endeavour would know the truth. The crew willingly chose to go with the Chlorans but to survive their genetic makeup had to be altered and they could no more leave the planet than could the Chlorans themselves.

Enter. . . Cyrga 240XXX.XX

Information Founding/Creating Species - The Tiroli
Cyrga's origins began with the Tiroli, a species so unlike humans for the comparison to be meaningless. They exist as a hive mind and primarily (but not fully) non-corporeal state. Their hive mind is clearly registered as a life sign. They are quite timeless even if at one point they had been constrained by flesh and bone. Lacking bodies themselves they became masters of bio-organic creations of which Cyrga is a type. Cyrga was created as a defense against any lesser species that looked towards  the Tiroli as a prize to be taken. In time, the station too, became a target.

Tirolians remain unseen by choice - having revealed themselves only on rare occasions. Tirolians strive for impartial observation and protected by Cyrga they turned their attention away from organics in known space - and now, have faded to nothing more than a distant historical fact. Cyrga, however, lives on. The station's sentience grew out of the passivity of the Tirolians and an intense need coming from the universe itself perhaps. The station is equipped with a particle-cannon based, omega-technology. Omega particles are dangerous things - using them without understanding them is suicide as many came to know. The Tirolians are one of the only species in all of known space to do so safely. The impact on known space can be equally detrimental. The Tirolian's ascendent nature created another need - guardians and caretakers of Cyrga. Thus the Pruiians. Pruiians are a servant species and their sole purpose is to serve and protect Cyrga - their goal is to keep the station from falling into enemy hands.

At the heart of Cyrga is the feminine neural network housed in a massive tree- like structure of metal and organic that rises from floor whose branches extend high overhead. Theories abound that at one time one of the Tirolians had sacrificed themselves and fused with the station-but the Tiroli were excellent at direction and misdirection and fact from fiction has long since ceased to matter.

Shield technology  The original shield technology the Tirolians used was  the surface-effect shields, like in TOS/TMP-era ST but after its encounter with the Klael, Kanterri, Borg....even the Federation itself - station shielding has evolved to be as up-to-date as the Federation could make it.
