Space Station Cyrga

Cyrga is not your typical station as those who serve who soon learn. It is the only one of it's kind and it possesses a timeless, eternal 'presence' that has no gender for it needs none; Calling Cyrga an 'it' however is a not so subtle reminder that Starfleet still doesn't know what to do with Cyrga. The station sits in the Delta Quadrant and its strategic value is clearly recognized. But in the intervening years, the Fleet had let matters in the Delta Quadrant 'pass' and now, the quadrant is rife with strife and dissension. Factions amongst the 'locals' has intensified and the Fleet can no longer maintain the out of sight out of mind approach. Their solution was the only one they could make...FAdm Cerywyn and the IXL....are their only hope of restoring peace and keeping it this time. . . .

Starfleet is allowed to use Cyrga as a command post out of respect gained by Cerywyn when she defended the DQ from the Borg. The sentient nature of the starbase was never fully understood - just accepted. Everyone knows not to go poking at it or it might lock out entire corridors, move walls and deliberately misdirect you all as an expression of what can only be called sulking.  For those who have active or a strong latent psi ability, the station makes them slightly uncomfortable but once it 'knows' you, the feeling lessens. Those without psi ability will notice nothing from Cyrga....the CO on the other hand is a different story.

The station is sentient and has reached a somewhat symbiotic relationship with the crew stationed there. But, in the years since the Fleet Admiral was last there, much has happened in the Delta Quadrant and the station is not as it once was but what once was has not been lost.  Changes in the DQ have left the station ill at ease and a message has been sent out . . .

Basic Schematics

  • 1400 km across (original 2399 specs - no idea how massive it is with new growth 2420).

  • 1 Main Converging Beam Cannon.
(the perfect thing to destroy borg cube, creates a path of destruction 1 km wide and 100,000 km long)

  • 200 particle cannon

  • 4,400 retractable particle turrets

  • 3000 missile turrets (anti-fighter defence)

See original specs proposed for the Exodus Class station-I think the ones above are tame by comparison.

Note: the station grew out of a design that was approved by Research and Development back in the day and while the concept grew out of Meltron/Zentron there are no mechs onboard. The life force at the heart of the station is well protected and housed deep, deep in the stations heart.

There are 8 Pruiians who guard the inner heart of the station and they, for the most part, pass unseen. They are the intermediaries, for lack of a better word, between the station itself and the one they call the Emissary - FAdm Cerywyn.

The Chloran Wormhole

The link between the Beta Quadrant and the  Delta Quadrant is not for the faint of heart. . .
